Arusha NP · Tarangire · Ngorongoro Crater
A 45-minute drive brings you to Momella Gate, where a park ranger briefs you before you walk at the foot of Mount Meru through forest, past waterfalls and giraffe. After a picnic lunch you switch to the vehicle for a game drive among buffalo, zebra and the black-and-white colobus before returning to Arusha.

Two to three hours south of Arusha, Tarangire's river is the only permanent water for miles, which is why the elephants gather here in dry season. You spend the day between baobabs and elephant families, lunch served with coffee and soft drinks, then drive to Karatu for dinner.
